REALLY BIG "SHOE" AT GALERIES LAFAYETTE IN PARIS

Everywhere you go in Paris, you will see this image. It is on all the buses, on your maps, and is the symbol of the famous store, Galeries Lafayette.
Before I left for Paris, I had heard about Galeries Lafayette renovating an entire floor of 23,000 sq. ft. of their flagship store into an entire space dedicated to shoes. And so, when I was in Paris, I had to go see it. Yes, this is me taking a picture of the fun mirrors around the shoe department.
The floor features over 150 brands and offers shoe repair and private changing rooms just in case you are shy.
Shoes are now the most sought after item in fashion. French women buy an average of 6 pairs per year which makes them the largest consumer group in Europe. 17% of the French women own over 20 pairs of shoes and more than 75% say they do not look at the price tag. If you watched "Sex in the City", those ladies didn't seem to look at the price tags either.
Purple and red shoes were everywhere in Paris and the little high heeled boot seemed to be the style of the moment. The Parisian woman looked so smart in these shoes and they updated their look with one purchase. Actually, they probably save lots of money buying shoes as opposed to entire new outfits. Not only are they slim but smart!
These little lavender sachets are in my Etsy shop and they feature women's greatest addiction .. SHOES.
On the back of each lavender sachet is a fun quote about shoes and the women who wear them. I do believe this quote. "Goddesses don't walk ... they glide."
Here's a new little boot with a touch of plum. These sachets make great stocking stuffers or hostess gifts or I think they look great as a favor by a place setting at one of your famous girlfriend dinners. I can customize the sachets with a friend's name so it's a personal gift for her.
And now that John Galliano has brought back the corset, this is a fun quote.
